Review of Direct Inward Investment for 2015 in France

The Occitanie Pyrénées/Méditerranée region is the 4th ranked region in France for job creating inward investment projects - N°1 region for jobs created in the R&D sector

 

The annual review of international investments in France, carried out by Business France in partnership with regional development agencies, includes all foreign investment projects that create or maintain employment in France and lists the numbers of related jobs (jobs announced within a 3 year horizon). It provides detailed statistics per sector of activity, type of operation, country of origin and target region.

 

The results for France are presented this year according to the perimeter of the 13 new regions, merged early 2016. The balance of the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée region was directed by Madeeli and Invest Sud de France, the corresponding regional economic development agencies of Business France.

 

The Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée region is the 4th ranked region in France for job creating inward investment projects (level with Hauts de France, formerly Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie). It accounts for 8% of all such projects and 6% of jobs created or maintained by foreign companies in 2015.

  • Over 900 foreign companies are present in the region, representing over 44 000 employees
  • 73 projectsenabling the creation or preservation of 2,133 jobs were defined in 2015
